Forged in the heartlands of the UK at the end of the 20th century, CAUDA PAVONIS are an impressive tour de force of 18th century style and 21st century technology with moving folkloric gothic songs and anthemic, driving music. A unique mix of influences brought together to form a band that has endured. Infamous for their Darkwave Buccaneer imagery and theatrical performances.
The band have played both headline and support appearances at UK and German festivals, including 'Gothic Pogo Party', 'WGT', 'Whitby Gothic Weekend', 'Spider's Web Festival' and 'Glastonbury Occult Conference', 'WItchfest Wales', The Fantasy Forest Festival, and 'A Splendid Day Out', to name a few. They have gigged extensively as both headline and support across the UK. Their support slots have seen them appear several times with the likes of Toyah, Inkubus Sukkubus, Aureleo Voltaire, Gene Loves Jezebel, and The Cruxshadows but also include slots with Simon Hinkler (The Mission), The Birthday Massacre, The Eden House, Abney Park, Department S, Professor Elemental, Chameleons Vox, Claytown Troupe, NFD (Ex-Fields of the Nephilim), Blue Zoo, Killing Miranda and Midnight Configuration.
Across 25 years Cauda Pavonis have successfully self released 6 albums, 6 EP's and singles and 4 download only anthology releases of their earlier work remastered. To top this they have appeared on over 45 compilations and cover discs and have made 2 UK TV appearances with one of those (ITV's Magick Eve) being a programme about the Gothic Subculture in which the band were the main focus.
The band is made up of original members Su and Dave Wainwright, bassist Steve Mercy and new guitarist Jon Gould.
