10 Years - New Album, New Bass Player |
2008 sees the band celebrating 10 years and what a set of years they've
been. 10 years of playing venues as far apart as Newcastle and Leipzig,
3 self released sold out albums, 2 EP's, appearances on 20
compilations, headlining over and supporting some of the scene's finest
bands at some of the UK's top shows and venues, TV appearances and
appearing at some of Europe's top festivals.
The
long awaited 4th album, recorded by Su Wainwright (formerly Farr), Dave
Wainwright, Chris Hines and new bass player Rob Quick, is set to take
the band to new heights. Its release has been timed to coincide with
the bands return to Whitby Gothic Weekend in April 2008 and will
feature new tracks recorded and mastered at Attic Attack Studios in
Bristol. As a celebration of the band's 10th anniversary it will
include bonus material in the form of several specially re-recorded
tracks from the band's back catalogue.
The Whitby Gothic Weekend
appearance will be part of the 10 Years Tour that includes some of top
UK alternative venues and 2 major festival appearances at WGW and
Wave-Gotik-Treffen.
The music of Cauda Pavonis has evolved from
the minimalist releases of the late 90's/early 00's and has now become
one of the most unique sounds on the Goth scene to date. This is not
'Goth 101' and definitely not the 'Goth by numbers' which litters the
scene on an all too regular basis. This is as fresh, new, rebellious
and challenging as the original Gothic Punk pioneers.
